"THE WRONG BIAS" - a poem to make you smile
There he stood upon the rink bowl in hand no time to think.
He sends it on its merry way.
What was that he heard Rob say?
Wrong Bias shouted Rob with glee, the other day, well, Ian had three
The bowl it ran out to the right, the rink next door it had in its sight.
Sandy stuck out a well-aimed boot and all round thought what a hoot. She missed the bowl and fell on her back, the bowl still heading for the wrong jack.
In came Mick to save the day and tripped over Pete along the way
They sprawled about upon the green; the bowl ran on as if not seen
In stepped Wen and Captain Janet to strike that chunk of granite.
The head was saved; the game went on as Team Whyte Melville looked upon.
Unlucky shouted a chuckling Ray as Pete helped Mick upon his way.
Well Janet reached for her pen – wrong bias cert for number 10
The game was won 12 shots to 4 despite the drama on the floor
All shook hands and said well bowled, lots of stories to be told.
The day wrong bias reared its head there’s nothing else I’d do instead.
Bowling is a game to try us but do watch out for that wrong bias.
